Graciela Iturbide: Cuando Habla la Luz

I visited a photographic exhibition “Graciela Iturbide: Cuando Habla la Luz”. It is in the “Antiguo Palacio de Iturbide”, but everyone calls it “Palacio de Cultura Citibanamex” on Madero street.

I saw the photos that Graciela took. She took photos around the world since 1971. The gallery has 270 photographs that were taken for approximately 47 years (from the 70’s to present).

I really love that exhibition because I think it was dark and critical. It has a lot of photographs that make us think about social problems and rethink them again. The different places that people believe are dangerous, but in reality, they are very special places with fantastic people.

Well, I love it, because Graciela decided to use her photos to represent several societies.

I really recommend it because Graciela Iturbide is one of the best Latin American photographers and I think she is the best in Mexico. If you have the opportunity to go and see her photos, won’t regret it. The exhibition is free and it will be open until April 12.

When I went to it, I’d like have gone with guided visit, but in the moment, I didn’t do it because, it was too late and the gallery would close in 50 minutes. Well, I saw whole gallery, but I didn’t have the opportunity to booked a guided visit.

If I had arrived early, I would have booked that guided visit.
